A small back road in Overlea became the scene of a
serious accident "Hollywood Style" on a rainy night this
past November, complete with ambulance, police cars and
a film crew. And it was all for a good cause, to help
the American Red Cross.
Adventure Productions has been hired to create a new
video for the Greater Chesapeake & Potomac chapter of
the American Red Cross. The project has involved 5 days
of shooting in numerous locations around Baltimore, and
will be a recruitment tool for the Red Cross to find new
phlebotomists, the technicians who draw and collect
blood donated to save the lives of those with serious
injuries and illnesses. The video will highlight the
rewards and challenges of this critical profession, and
show how it fits into the big picture of today's health
care industry.
Several local actors were hired to work in the video,
and some of the top students from Villa Julie College's
Film & Video program acted as interns for the shootings.
The Baltimore County Fire Department and the Baltimore
County Police Department both came out to help re-create
the accident scene for the Red Cross video, with EMT's
and a uniformed police officer along with a uniformed
Special Police Officer for the State of Maryland.
Alexanderltd.com donated vehicular equipment while Good
Samaritan Hospital permitted the film crew to use their
Emergency Room and the exterior of their hospital to
finish the re-creation.
Shooting for the project was completed in December,
and the final editing will be completed by the end of
January. Portions of the completed video will be
available for viewing on the Red Cross' website
www.my-redcross.org and Adventure Productions'
website starting in February of 2008. For more
information on how you can get involved by donating
blood, organizing a blood drive at your place of
business or becoming a phlebotomist, please call the
American Red Cross at 1-800-GIVE-LIFE.
"Aqua Kids" weekly kids' show - Turtle Rescue shoot

The talented young people who appear on the weekly
syndicated kids' TV show "Aqua Kids" don't just sit on
the sidelines and ask questions about sea animals, they
get right into the action. Here they are shown assisting
the North Carolina Aquarium staff to release an
endangered Loggerhead sea turtle back into the ocean
after its long rehabilitation. "Aqua Kids," a multiple
Emmy and Telly award-winning children’s program, is the
creation of George Stover, owner of Adventure
Productions in Baltimore. The show is designed for
viewers aged 8-12, and educates young people about the
diversity of marine animals around the world, and the
importance of preserving their habitats.
In conjunction with the 2007-2008 season, the "Aqua
Kids" website
www.aquakids.tv has been newly redesigned and
updated to be a more effective and interactive
educational tool.
National syndication for "Aqua Kids", an FCC
compliant program, is handled by Showplace, and is
sponsored by Captain Kids, an organization dedicated to
involving children in water activities of every
description. To date, "Aqua Kids" airs in 78% of the
U.S., and in several Asian and Middle Eastern markets.
