"Death in Bimini"
Here is an example of stupidity!
A member of the "South Beach Shark Club" caught this 11 foot female Great Hammerhead just to collect its fins and jaws!
This is tragic!
The Great Hammerhead Sharks are in danger of extinction!
This needless slaughter must be stopped. People need to be educated about their thoughtless acts, and the harmful effects they have on our environment. All of Earth's creatures are precious and deserve our protection and our respect. Please support local organizations in your area whenever possible and lets put an immediate end to vicious killings like this one.

Save the SHARKS!
Sharks: Powerful, Misunderstood, and on the Brink

Despite their vilified roles in novels and Hollywood films, sharks have far more reason to fear humans than the other way around. Every year, people kill more than 100 million sharks, primarily as a result of shark finning to supply the growing demand for shark fin soup. Shark finning is a cruel and wasteful practice in which fishermen cut the fins off the shark, often while the shark is still alive, and then dump the finless shark overboard to die a slow and painful death. Shark finning is having a very real and
drastic impact on shark populations, making it imperative to ban finning.
Congress outlawed shark finning in US waters in 2000, but without international controls or a massive reduction in demand, the horrible practice of shark finning will continue throughout the world’s oceans. Last year a major milestone was reached when 63 nations unanimously agreed to ban the practice in the Atlantic Ocean. With your help, we can end shark finning in the Pacific Ocean as well.
Sharks Need Your Help!
Please help us urge the US government to act quickly to ban shark finning in the Pacific. Send a Free E-mail now to Assistant Secretary of State John Turner and to Dr. William Hogarth, Assistant Administrator for Fisheries, National Marine Fisheries Service. Our goal is to get 20,000 signatures before June 15th!
And please tell your friends about this imminent threat to sharks!
